As part of the goal to continuously better North Dakota and the lives of its citizens, a partnership between state and industry was created. The North Dakota Industrial Commission manages specific projects of various industries and interests established by state law.
Members of the Commission:
Doug Burgum
Governor
Wayne Stenehjem
Attorney General
Doug Goehring
Agriculture Commissioner
Among many other projects, the NDIC then created the Lignite Research, Development and Marketing Program—a multimillion-dollar program that focuses solely on providing the opportunity to preserve and enhance North Dakota’s lignite industry.
